The Breeder – Yannick

Born in the Lower St-Laurence in Trois-Pistoles, Quebec, Canada
I always had a passion for every aspect of nature…Even tough the Lower St-Lawrence climate is a bit harsh, cold adapted vegetation and fauna are very rich…

From my youth, watching tv shows and reading kids books I always had a soft spot for foreign, exotic species of plants and animals from far away lands, almost out of reach in my childhood dreams.

At 5 years old I began collecting plant cuttings from family, friends and neighbours.

Exotic animals were almost out of reach back then, except those amazing little green Turtles that were at my local 5 & Dime store! I was amazed by those beautiful little creatures! But to my dismay they would die. At the time, in the 1970’s, nobody locally knew what to do to make them survive.

Suddenly they were no longer available! So I could no longer keep these great creatures that “transported their own homes”!!! Just as well, as they never seemed to thrive …

In the early 1990’s I moved to Montreal’s West Island and discovered some people were keeping Turtles and Tortoises, and my youth passion immediately resurged!

I started to keep a few as pets. With plenty of new, educated information coming out in reptile magazines, books and later the internet, keeping them healthy and thriving was no longer a mystery.

In the early 2000’s I bought a house and finally had enough space to actually find mates for my small group of pets, and began reproducing these magnificent animals!

And the rest is history …. YG

Our Goal

To offer True Captive Bred Baby Tortoises and Turtles by dedicated breeders.  We hope this will contribute to stopping the illegal wildlife trafficking of these magnificent creatures.

Captive Bred Turtles and Tortoises are more adapted to life in captivity and they do not harbor any pests or diseases associated with wild caught animals.

Please be sure to buy a captive bred baby from a reputable source!
