Egyptian Tortoise – (Testudo Kleinmanni)
One of the smallest species of tortoise. This tiny beauty is very rare and a charm to work with.
I had a wonderful opportunity to have found a captive bred pair in Canada that was in someone’s collection for more than 15 years!
Since acquiring the pair and working on “triggers” to help them shift to copulating mode, I eventually had the amazing pleasure to hatch my first super-tiny baby Egyptian Tortoise.
Since then, more babies have hatched in my home and it is always a delight to see these incredibly small tortoises hatch!
Contrary to popular belief, I have found this species to be quite strong and resilient. This is the case for my adults and captive bred babies. Of course, this requires the right care and environment, and I can clearly explain the required environment for babies.
Being so small, they are easier to accommodate Indoors in our harsh Canadian climate.
